Resilience in Challenging Times

Self Care in Small Acts

Employees and leaders are struggling to stay grounded, engaged, and focused during this pandemic. With lines becoming increasingly blurred between work and home, people are working longer hours, and aren’t finding the time to take care of themselves.

70% of people say that the COVID pandemic is the most stressful time in their entire career, and without the proper support and tools, productivity, innovation, and collaboration are all at risk of decreasing as stress levels, and even burnout continue to  increase.

Many employees feel guilty taking care of themselves, or simply don’t know how to establish a self-care routine. Leaders who are able to adopt self-care practices, and model these for their employees are far more likely to see an increase in engagement.

Resilience happens when we let go of the pressure to produce with the consistency and frequency of a machine. It happens when we stay connected with our innate human needs and keep nurturing those needs, even as we may be holding a lot.

In the spirit of staying as relaxed and present as possible in these challenging times, we wanted to share a simple strategy for practicing resilience during this busy season. We hope this helps you find ease this fall.
